Macaroni and cheese recipe for you:


Ingredients:


- 8 ounces (225g) elbow macaroni

- 2 cups (500ml) milk

- 2 tablespoons (28g) unsalted butter

- 2 tablespoons (16g) all-purpose flour

- 2 cups (200g) shredded cheddar cheese

- 1 cup (100g) shredded mozzarella cheese

- 1/2 teaspoon salt

- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

- 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)


Instructions:


1. Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

3. In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and whisk constantly for about 1 minute to make a roux.

4. Slowly pour in the milk, whisking continuously to combine it with the roux. Continue cooking and whisking until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.

5. Reduce the heat to low, and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese and half of the mozzarella cheese. Keep stirring until the cheeses have melted and the sauce is smooth.

6. Remove the saucepan from the heat and season the sauce with salt, pepper, and paprika (if using).

7. Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until the pasta is evenly coated.

8. Transfer the macaroni and cheese mixture to a greased baking dish.

9. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella cheese on top of the macaroni.

10. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the top is lightly golden.

11. Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
