Recipe for cookies and coffee:
Ingredients:
For the cookies:
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
2 cups chocolate chips (or any other desired mix-ins)
For the coffee:
1 1/2 tablespoons ground coffee
2 cups hot water
Milk or cream (optional)
Sweetener of choice (optional)
Instructions:
1- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
3- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. You can use an electric mixer or do it by hand with a wooden spoon.
4- Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, until well combined.
5- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the chocolate chips or other mix-ins of your choice.
6- Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
6- Bake the cookies for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown around the edges. The centers may still be slightly soft, but they will firm up as they cool. Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
7- While the cookies are cooling, prepare your coffee. In a coffee maker or French press, add the ground coffee and hot water. Let it steep for a few minutes, then strain the coffee to remove the ground.
8- Serve the cookies with a cup of hot coffee. Add milk or cream and sweetener if desired.
