Delicious tofu recipe you can try:


Ingredients:


- 1 block of firm tofu

- 2 tablespoons soy sauce

- 1 tablespoon sesame oil

- 1 tablespoon maple syrup or honey

- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar

- 1 teaspoon grated ginger

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 1 tablespoon cornstarch

- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)

- Optional toppings: sesame seeds, sliced green onions


Instructions:


1. Drain and press the tofu: Remove the tofu from its packaging and drain any excess liquid. Place the tofu block on a plate lined with paper towels. Place more paper towels on top of the tofu, then place a heavy object (like a cutting board or a few cans) on top to press the tofu and remove the moisture. Let it sit for about 15-20 minutes.


2. Prepare the marinade: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, maple syrup or honey, rice vinegar, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Set aside.


3. Cut the tofu: Once the tofu is pressed, cut it into small cubes or slices, depending on your preference.


4. Marinate the tofu: Place the tofu pieces in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Gently toss the tofu to make sure each piece is coated with the marinade. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes, but longer if possible (you can even marinate it overnight in the refrigerator for more flavor).


5. Coat the tofu with cornstarch: Sprinkle the cornstarch over the marinated tofu and gently toss to coat each piece evenly.


6. Fry the tofu: Heat the vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet or frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the tofu pieces in a single layer. Cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until the tofu is crispy and golden brown.


7. Serve: Remove the tofu from the pan and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to remove any excess oil. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions, if desired. Serve hot as a side dish or as a protein-rich addition to stir-fries, salads, or noodle dishes.
